Please rate yourself on your current knowledge of Microsoft Windows: Beginner - At this level students have the fundamentals of using Windows XP to maintain their computer, access Help, and use the Internet Explorer Web browser. Students would how to navigate the folder hierarchy and search for files by using My Computer and Windows Explorer, and manage files and folders by using the Recycle Bin. They would also be familiar creating simple word processing documents and drawings, customizing the desktop, and browsing the Internet.

Intermediate - At this level students have a good usage of all of the Windows XP fundamentals and usability at the beginner level. They would also have moreadvanced knowledge of home networking, file and printer sharing, running multiple applications, installing, uninstalling and managing applications, using Windows Media Player and manage disks and drives

Please rate yourself on your current knowledge of Microsoft Word: Beginner - At this level students would learn the basic functions and features of Word 2003.  For example, students will learn how to create and edit documents, move and copy text, format characters and paragraphs, create and manage tables, control page layout, use proofing tools as well as how to work with Word's integrated Web and e-mail features.

Intermediate - At this level students would learn the intermediate-level features and functions of Word 2003. For example, students would learn how to work with sections and columns, format tables, import Excel data, create and modify styles, and work with headers and footers.

This course is designed for students with little or no Excel experience.

For example, students would learn how to create presentations, rearrange and delete slides, use the Formatting toolbar, set tabs, and align text. They would also learn how to work with objects, AutoShapes, text boxes, fill colors, WordArt, and other types of images. They would create tables, apply a design template, work with slide masters, add headers and footers, and use PowerPoint's built-in proofing tools. Finally, they'll learn how to create links between presentations and save a presentation for Web delivery.

Advanced - At this level students will will learn to use the advanced-level functions and features of PowerPoint 2003. For example, Students would learn how to create and modify templates, build a custom slide master, and insert multimedia elements. For example, students would learn how to configure an e-mail account, read, create, and send messages, and work with file attachments. They would also learn how to organize messages, set delivery options, print messages, set up a mail merge, work with contacts and tasks, use the Calendar, and manage their Outlook folders.

Advanced - At this level students will will learn the advanced-level functions and features of Outlook 2003. For example, students would learn how to create custom toolbars, customize the menu bar and Navigation pane, use advanced search options, set and remove filters, and sort, group, and set rules for messages. They would also learn how to work with notes, the Journal, advanced Calendar features, message templates, forms, public folders, newsgroups, and Outlook's security features.

Notes on completing your "Needs Assessment":

To assist you in determining your software training needs, we have provided a list of our most popular training classes. We have also listed several of the specific features of each application. You can use this list to identify the specific areas where you might like to have more knowledge.  We will then use this information in designing three hour classes that will cover as many of your needs as possible.

Please just follow the steps below to complete your personal training needs assessment:
